Over the last three years, Art for Water has successfully raised awareness of the worldwide safe water crisis. Our presentations, educational initiatives and its sculptural installations – 13,699 and River of Words Stream of Conscience – have drawn thousands who hear for the first time that the world is running out of clean water. 13,699, which stands as a dramatic reminder of the mortal consequence of the shrinking availability of clean water, has now been exhibited in five venues from Peterborough and Keene, NH to Boston, South Hamilton, MA, and Solomons, MD, allowing Art for Water to reach thousands of people of all ages.
Hands-on participation, interactive exhibitions, and discussion groups convey Art for Water’s message. And, our current installation, River of Words Stream of Conscience, has engaged students and faculty at Franklin Pierce University, Antioch University New England, the Pingree School, AXL Academy, ConVal and Conant High Schools, Wells Memorial School, Peterborough Rotary Club, and the villages of Harrisville and Hancock. River of Words Stream of Conscience continues to engage the public through this exciting interdisciplinary project at the Sharon Arts Downtown Gallery in Peterborough, NH. River of Words Stream of Conscience brings hundreds of participants together to create a sculptural and literary installation with a powerful message: that individuals and communities can rise up against a persistent tide of humanitarian and environmental crises.
